Covid Virus

Still Here To Serve You

Refer to our COVID-19 Insurance FAQ Page for the most up to date information on how the current crisis is affecting your insurance protection and options.

June 1 2021 Update: We have removed most of the interim updates and have returned to normal operating procedures. Should you desire curbside service or your Yennie & Jones team member to wear a mask, please ask and we'll be happy to accomodate you.

November 17 2020 Update: Due to the increase of COVID related hospitalizations in the communities we interact with we are updating our office procedures to:

  1. Remind each client wishing to make an appointment that virtual appointments are available
  2. Continue offering curbside service in response to a phone call or the doorbell we have installed on our outer door
  3. Require our staff to wear face coverings when visitors are present
  4. Encourage visitors to our office to wear face coverings if they are able
  5. Log visitor entry and exit times to limit visitor involvement with contact tracing should that occur
  6. Require each of our associates to work from home periodically to make sure you have uninterrupted service should another shutdown be ordered.
  7. Continue with our enhanced sanitation routine which sanitizes the entire office twice daily and the work area after any outside visitor
  8. Continue to monitor the situation locally and will adjust as necessary

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

At Yennie & Jones, our job is to protect you. When it comes to managing our business during the current pandemic, we will do so in ways that protect both your financial and physical safety as well as the safety of our employees and vendors.  In the weeks and months ahead, we know that you may potentially need us more than ever because accidents, fires, and many lawsuits won't stop because of the health and economic disruptions.

We're also one of the few agencies in the area that still write health insurance and continue to service that business

We are Still Here to Serve You and Open for Business:  We've been through pandemics before, several times since our founding in 1902 and we'll be here with you through this one as well.  We have closed down our lobby and most of our staff may be working remotely but we're still here to help you.  Here are some of the ways we can connect with you even during these odd times:

  • Phone, Fax & E-mail of course
  • Remote meetings with shared computer screens where you can see what we are seeing
  •  Secure digital signing tools which allow you to sign applications & change requests without travel, even to your mailbox
  •  Enhanced our website to allow you to securely upload documents to us
  •  Added bill payment to our website allowing you to either directly pay the company we've placed your protection with or through our agency's secure payment system for those companies without online billing

Billing:  Even before Governor Michael Parson's signed Executive Order 20-02, or Governors Kelly & Pritzker signed equivalent orders in Kansas & Illinois we began receiving notifications from our insurance companies that they would make billing accomodations as needed to address the current economic situation.  If you are going to have difficulty paying your insurance premiums on time, please let us know as early as possible and we will work with your insurance company to delay cancellations and adjust billing amounts and dates.  We can't make your premium bills go away, but we may be able to buy you some time to help you keep your insurance protection in force.

Claims:  While certain COVID-19 claims are clearly covered (like medical treatment under your health insurance plans) and others are likely covered (like worker's compensation claims when your exposure through work was the most likely cause), other situations are excluded in standard policy language (like 'loss of income by order of civil authority in the absence of direct physical damage').  That said, this is an unprecedented situation and if you have chosen to carry loss of business income we are making claims for COVID19 related losses even though they are clearly excluded by standard policy language.  We are submitting these claims in case the traditional interpretation of policy language is adjusted at some future date.  Call us for details.

We will continue to monitor this very fluid situation and will adjust our emergency preparedness program as necessary to continue protecting you.

Thank you for trusting us with your insurance protection program, we remain open for business and remember that unlike most insurance agencies, we work for you, not the insurance company,

Craig Jones

Gayle Kearns Says:
I got a speeding ticket last week trying to move our kids cross country. We just started our car insurance with Acuity last year I'm worried this may raise our rates.
The ticket was on I-70 doing 86mph in a 75mph zone. Thank you for any suggestions.
